LCQOV Members have already been busy making Individual Awards as we start 2022. On 1/29/22, Tammi Giratas made QOV Awards to the two U.S. Navy veterans pictured below. Both quilts were pieced, quilted and bound by Tammi.

Lewiston Elks Vietnam War Veterans Day - March
Lewis Clark QOV made awards to 19 veterans representing 67 years of U.S. military history (1951-2018), including all five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. They served a combined total of 123 years.
Lewiston Elks - Flag Retirement - June
“On Friday, 6/10/22, the Lewiston Elks Lodge held a Flag Retirement Ceremony, conducted by the Alice Whitman Chapter, NSDAR, during which 35 used, U.S. flags were respectfully retired. Following this service, LCQOV members made QOV awards to 15 veterans. The veterans we honored represented 64 years of U.S. military history, and their combined service is a total of 163 years. It was our privilege to also award veteran spouses, as well as five Most Recent Veterans of the 21st Century.”
VFW Awards - October
October VFW Sew Day, 10/10/22, we made QOV awards to 15 recipients. The large audience included family members and their special guests. Samy Owen delivered the LCQOV comments, with Dawna Glenn and Barb Boland wrapping our recipients. The awards were followed by lots of sewing on individual projects, and working on new bindings. Lunch of potato bar with chili, and dessert of cupcakes and brownie bites was provided by VFW Auxiliary members. It was a fun day, and we greatly appreciate our partnership with VFW Post #10043! These veterans were honored for their service. Together they served a total of 115 years and represent 57 years of United States Military History, including WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Cold War and Cuban Crisis, Persian Gulf War and other conflicts throughout the world.
LCQOV Veterans’ Day Awards – 2022
Idaho State Veterans Home Veterans’ Day Event – began at 2PM, and due to the cold weather, it was held inside. Claudia Decker delivered our LCQOV comments, and Dawna Glenn and Becky Mahurin wrapped the QOV recipients at their seat in the audience. Included with LCQOV Award Letter was a special note about Al Lind, who pieced five of these six quilts awarded. These veterans received their QOV at the Idaho State VA Home, representing 18 years of U.S. military history. Combined, they served a total of 23 years. (We did not take a group picture.)

Veteran's Day Awards - Elks
Elks Veterans’ Day Event/LCQOV Awards – were held at the Elks Lodge at 4:30PM. The event started with Flag Presentation by the CHS JROTC and the Pledge of Allegiance. Claudia Decker delivered our LCQOV comments, and Dawna Glenn and Judy Howard wrapped the QOV recipients. These 17 veterans received their QOV at the Elks Lodge, and represented 66 years of United States military history. Combined, they served a total of 130 years.
DAR AWARDS - ELKS
On Saturday, 11/19/22, the program for the meeting of the Alice Whitman Chapter-National Society DAR was their recognition for veterans with LCQOV awards. We had 16 recipients who served a RECORD 257 YEARS in service to our nation, representing 56 years of United States military history. Four recipients all served in the U.S. Coast Guard—three brothers and a veteran spouse.

AWARDS ACCOMPLISHED
The First Church of God in Clarkston became the center of activity for the LCQOV-QOV National Sew Day on Saturday, 2/4/23. To the hum of sewing machines and the sounds of much laughter and bantering, LCQOV participants (15) spent a great day producing quilt tops, working on the 2023 QOV block, or finishing hand work to complete another QOV. At 10AM, we made 12 QOV awards to veterans, whose service dates spanned 1952 to 2012, and who together spent 66 years in military service to our nation (photo attached).

Vietnam Veterns Day 2023
Awards Accomplished: In recognition of Vietnam War Veterans Day, the Lewiston Elks Lodge hosted LCQOV awards on Wednesday, 3/29/23. We awarded each of 17 veterans with a QOV, and four of them received the Vietnam War Commemorative Lapel Pin. This pin is presented on behalf of a grateful nation to living United States veterans who served on active duty in the United States Armed Forces at any time during the period of November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975, regardless of location of their service. It was our privilege to make QOV awards to three female veterans, as well as to our most recent veterans of the 21st Century.

Nancy Sattler delivered the LCQOV comments, with Dawna Glenn and Judy Howard wrapping our recipients. The awards were followed by sewing on individual projects, stitching labels on quilts for future awards, and working on new bindings. Lunch of potato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches, and a raspberry dessert was provided by VFW Auxiliary members. It was a fun day, and we greatly appreciate our partnership with VFW Post #10043! These veterans were honored for their service.
